About the foundation

Born in the Struggle, Built for the Future

The Each One Teach One Foundation (EOTOF) is a non-profit organisation established by former members and activists of the Congress of South African Students (COSAS). Our members actively participated in the struggle for freedom, justice, democracy, and quality education from the inception of COSAS until 1990. Today, we serve as a vital platform to transform that historical knowledge into sustainable community development.

Our Vision

To be a leading heritage, education, and socio-economic empowerment institution that preserves the legacy of youth activism while building prosperous, informed, and self-reliant communities.

Our Mission

To mobilise the experience, skills, networks, and collective wisdom of former student activists to promote lifelong learning, celebrate liberation heritage, advance socio-economic development, and mentor future leaders.

Our Core Values

  • Patriotism & Service: A deep love for South Africa, committing to its democratic values by serving with humility.

  • Integrity & Accountability: Conducting all initiatives ethically, transparently, and with responsible stewardship.

  • Unity & Empowerment: Strengthening solidarity among former activists while creating opportunities for sustainable development.

  • Heritage Preservation: Protecting and promoting the historical weight and legacy of youth activism.
